PRAYAGRAJ: The Namami Ganga Pavilion at Mahakumbh-2025 is attracting large crowds daily, sharing an important message about cleaning and conserving the Ganga River. It starts with a breathtaking biodiversity tunnel that uses advanced projection technology to showcase the river's rich wildlife.
Visitors are surrounded by stunning visuals of the Ganga’s ecosystem and the soothing sounds of birds along its banks. This immersive experience highlights the river's vital role in supporting life and preserving the environment.
A digital exhibition highlights the government’s efforts to clean the river and manage its conservation. The interactive displays are both engaging and informative, helping visitors grasp the importance of keeping the Ganga clean and healthy.
A key attraction of the pavilion is the Prayag Platform, which provides real-time information on the Ganga and Yamuna rivers, such as water levels, cleanliness, and pollution levels. Visitors also get to see how sewage treatment plants and riverfront developments are contributing to the river’s conservation.
The pavilion also educates visitors about the Ganga’s wildlife by displaying replicas of dolphins, turtles, crocodiles, and fish found in the river. This helps children and young people understand the need to protect these species and preserve the river’s biodiversity.
A reading corner set up by the National Book Trust offers books on the Ganga, Mahakumbh, and topics related to India’s heritage, culture, and conservation efforts. Adding a spiritual touch, a statue of Lord Ganesh is installed to symbolize the purity of the Ganga and strengthen the emotional connection visitors feel with the river.
Organizations such as the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Ganga Task Force, and IIT Delhi are also part of the pavilion, sharing insights on protecting endangered species, managing waste, and increasing public awareness. The Namami Gange Mission urges visitors to see the Ganga as more than just a river—it is an integral part of India’s culture, history, and economy. The pavilion has successfully combined technology, education, and culture to inspire people to take responsibility for keeping the river clean and protecting its beauty.
