Man Successfully Undergoes Brain Surgery While Chanting Gayatri Mantra

While the elderly patient was chanting the Gayatri Mantra, surgeons were seen operating him in order to remove the tumor from brain.

NEW DELHI: A sheer case of religious belief is recently doing the rounds on social media as a video has gone viral depicting a 57-year-old patient undergoing brain tumor surgery, and what's more astonishing is that; all the while the patient was chanting onto the most sacred of Hindu prayers, the Gayatri Mantra which is believed to be the origin of all Vedic Chantings since the time immemorial.

While the elderly patient was chanting the Gayatri Mantra, surgeons were seen operating on him in order to remove the tumor from the brain.

According to the doctors, the operation for removing the tumor from the brain was being carried out without making the patient fully unconscious, but administering only local anesthesia.

The video also shows the surgeons interacting with the patient during the operation and all throughout the four hours of excruciating and complex surgical process, the patient was clinging on while chanting the Gayatri mantra.

According to Dr KK Bansal, senior neurosurgeon at a private hospital, "The 57-year-old Ridhamal Ram, a resident of Churu, used to have epileptic seizures repeatedly. Due to this, he also lost his voice for some time. An examination revealed a brain tumor in the speech area of the brain. The tumor was in such a position that the patient's voice could be lost due to surgery. There was also a risk of being paralyzed. In such a situation, it was decided to keep the patient conscious while performing brain surgery."

During this astonishing surgery, the doctors were witnessed talking to the patient for a considerable amount of time. At times, they would even ask the patient to chant Ram-Ram and the patient was asked the name of a fruit.

It may be mentioned that the team of neurosurgeons removed the patient's brain tumor using CUSA (Cavitron Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator) while using a microscope and removed the deadly tumor through a two-inch incision in the patient's skull.
