Katra, Jammu: A major fire broke out Tuesday evening at a building situated inside the Mata Vaishno Devi temple complex in Katra in Jammu and Kashmir. The fire broke out at around 4.15 pm inside a cash counting room in Kalika Bhavan, which is adjacent to the sanctum sanctorum.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. No deaths or injuries have been reported.

Fire tenders and prompt action by the locals managed to bring the fire under control.

Videos shared on social media show that the building has suffered significant damage.

Mata Vaishno Devi shrine is a sacred place of worship for the Hindus and is held in very high esteem.
