MUMBAI: Two major fires broke out in Mumbai on Monday, leaving an elderly woman critically injured and damaging dozens of warehouses. No fatalities were reported in either incident.

A massive fire broke out on the seventh floor of Fortune Enclave, a residential building in Bandra West where renowned playback singer Shaan lives on the 11th floor. He was not confirmed to be present during the incident, and there has been no official comment from him.

An 80-year-old woman was rescued from the premises after suffering breathing difficulties following the incident. She was admitted to a private hospital and is in critical condition, according to hospital officials.

The fire department dispatched 10 vehicles to extinguish the flames and evacuate residents. Initial investigations suggest a short circuit may have caused the fire, according to fire department officials. Both police and fire services are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.

In a separate incident on Monday evening, a fire broke out at the Kurla Scrap Market in Mankhurd. This fire erupted in the godown near the Ayyappa temple in the Mandala locality around 7 PM on Monday.

Four fire engines were deployed to tackle the situation, and the operation was completed after a few hours. The blaze destroyed 30 to 40 warehouses, but no casualties were reported.
