Noida police raids spa centres allegedly running sex racket, 35 including 25 women arrested

Noida: In a simultaneous raid conducted by Noida police on Sunday night at 14 spa centres, 35 people were arrested. Police conducted the raid for allegedly running sex rackets. Of the arrested people from the spas, 25 were women.

What is more shocking is that the people arrested by police from the Noida spas also include foreign nationals. The team of police officers raiding the spas comprised of seven circle officers, eight station house officers and 30 sub-inspectors including both male and female constables.

With the sex rackets mushrooming throughout the nation, this has been a must for the police to be strict and careful enough in preventing the illicit businesses. Such sudden raids by the police in the Noida spas has been commendable as this will keep a check on the illegal acts. Among other things being seized by the police, there were Rs 1 Lakh cash, condoms etc.

Police have sealed these spas with further complaints being filed against the owners of the spas. Police further added that the spa centres and their owners would be charged under the stringent Uttar Pradesh Gangsters Act.

Gautam Buddh Nagar (Rural) Superintendent of Police (SP) Vineet Jaiswal said, “On the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Krishna, raids were conducted late in the evening at 14 spa centres in the commercial hub of Sector 18. The raids continued till almost midnight.”

Jaiswal also reported, "Altogether 35 people -- 10 men and 25 women -- were arrested from these spas, including multiple foreign nationals. Around Rs one lakh in cash, beer, used and unused condoms, along with other objectionable articles, were seized from these spa centres."

The police officer also says that of these alleged sex traders, three were found involved in sex trade. Other spa centres of the region too showed serious irregularities.

Noida, being the hub of IT and several other multi-national companies, has emerged as one busy hub with different types and kinds of people roaming in and out. On such grounds, there are quite possibilities for the place to build up illegal and illicit businesses.
