The problem came to light when the girl who is a native of the Guntur district of the state approached the local police. She reported her grievances to the Spandana portal of Andhra Pradesh Police on Monday and sought their help regarding the matter.

According to her complaint, the nursing student met a person named Praveen Raj on Social Media when she was searching for buyers. He was offering half this sum as advance to the girl with the promise of the remaining amount after the successful completion of the necessary medical procedure.

After coming to the deal, the miscreants opened a new account with Citibank in Chennai and deposited Rs 3 Cr into the account. Following this, the girl also paid Rs 16 Lakh to cover the necessary charges before the operation. When she asked for the first instalment of the payment, the frauds asked her to collect the amount from an address in Delhi, which soon turned out to be fake after her visit.

The father of the girl had mentioned that he had given one of his cards to his daughter as she was studying in Hyderabad. He came across a cash withdrawal of Rs 16 Lakh in the month of November.
