NEW DELHI: During a televised address at 8 PM yesterday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation amid escalated tensions between India and Pakistan.

His address followed immediately after an important meeting between the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of the two countries, where they had talked about the recent ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC). Nevertheless, even when Pakistan raised the question of the Indus Waters Treaty, the subject was not a point of discussion during the negotiations.

In his speech, Prime Minister Modi sent a stern message without leaving room for confusion on India's position on terrorism. "If Pakistan has to live, it has to remove its terror network. We will not distinguish between terrorists and those who fund them. Terror and talks can't go hand in hand," he stated. The Prime Minister left no doubt that India would never tolerate any threat and would respond forcefully to any challenge to its security.

PM Modi also pointed out India's developments in the area of military strength and proactive national defense strategy. Pointing to recent advances, he added, "Operation Sindoor is now India's policy. We have demonstrated our superiority in new-age warfare. India is embracing a zero-tolerance policy on terrorism." His statement reflected a turn toward an aggressive and strategic military policy.

Backing the Prime Minister's comments, Air Marshal AK Bharti validated that Indian defense systems against aerial attacks have indeed intercepted and defended against the latest Pakistani aggressions. He indicated that all bases were up and running normally, and there has been no downtime. Also, the 32 airports briefly shut down in advance have reopened for regular flights, and commercial airlines resumed full services.

The Indian government has issued a stern warning that any further terrorist activity originating from Pakistani soil will be treated as an act of war. Officials are maintaining a vigilant watch on the situation, with the armed forces on standby for any necessary response. As tensions remain high, PM Modi’s speech signals a decisive moment in India’s counter-terrorism strategy and its broader approach to regional security.
