NEW DELHI: On the sixth anniversary of the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to the CRPF personnel who lost their lives. He remembered their sacrifice and appreciated their dedication to the nation. February 14 is remembered as a black day in India's history.

"Homage to the courageous heroes we lost in Pulwama in 2019. The coming generations will never forget their sacrifice and their unwavering dedication to the nation," PM Modi said in a post on X.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also paid tribute on X, stating, "I pay homage to all those martyred in Pulwama on this day in 2019 and recall their supreme service to our nation. India will never forget their bravery. Their courage motivates every Indian to work towards a Sashakt and Samriddh Bharat."

On February 14, 2019, a suicide bomber targeted a convoy of Indian security personnel on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway in Lethapora, Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack resulted in the deaths of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and the perpetrator, Adil Ahmad Dar, a local youth from Pulwama. The Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for the attack. India accused Pakistan of involvement, while Pakistan condemned the incident and denied any connection.
