NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other parliamentarians will attend a special screening of the film 'The Sabarmati Report' in Parliament today, December 2, at 4 p.m.
Starring Vikrant Massey in the lead role, the film delves into the tragic events of the 2002 Godhra train tragedy. It has already sparked significant interest, particularly among BJP members.
PM Modi praised the film for "revealing the truth" behind the event and criticized the "fake narratives" surrounding it, asserting that such narratives can only last for a limited time. Modi emphasized that "the facts will always come out," highlighting the importance of presenting this historical account to the public in an accessible manner.
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), PM Modi expressed his support for 'The Sabarmati Report' by sharing the film’s trailer, “Well said. It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period. Eventually, the facts will always come out!"
It is worth noting that actor Vikrant Massey announced his retirement from Bollywood earlier today. In a social media post, he revealed he is leaving the industry with "last two movies and many years of memories."
Massey’s decision comes shortly after the release of his film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ and after being honored as the Personality of the Year at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
The 37-year-old actor did not explain his reasons but mentioned he wants to "go back home." His unexpected departure has left fans and colleagues stunned.
