NEW DELHI: The first show of the new format for the Guard Ceremony took place today at the Forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan, with President Droupadi Murmu observing the event. The ceremony will now be held every Saturday.

From February 22, 2025, the Change of Guard Ceremony will be open to a larger audience, allowing people to witness the event with the iconic Rashtrapati Bhavan in the backdrop.

The new format will include military drills by the President's Bodyguard, along with troops from the Ceremonial Guard Battalion and the Ceremonial Military Brass Band. These performances will be spread over a larger area, offering an enhanced experience for visitors.

Recently, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the 10th edition of the International Women's Conference at the Art of Living Centre on Friday, with over 500 delegates from 50 countries expected to participate.

In her address, President Murmu encouraged women to look within themselves to discover their virtues, talents, and mental strength, emphasizing that breaking barriers and overcoming stereotypes requires inner resilience.

She also praised Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and the Art of Living for their global impact in helping individuals find inner peace through meditation and humanitarian work. President Murmu highlighted the importance of maintaining human values in an era of technological disruption, noting that women play a crucial role in leading with compassion and kindness.
