Private hospital in Lucknow declares man dead, 'wakes up' before being buried

Lucknow: In a rather bizarre and jaw-dropping instance of utter negligence and irresponsible behaviour by the doctors, an incident of a dead man waking up after being declared dead has happened.

Notably, a 20-year-old man in Lucknow, was brought to a private hospital on June 21 after he met with an accident. But after checking him in the hospital, doctor declared him as dead. After being declared dead, his body reaches home in an ambulance after which happened the most unusual incident.

His family members, on receiving his body from the hospital, dug his grave. But just when they were about to put his body into the grave, the family members could notice certain movement in the body. The sudden movement in the body led the family members and others present in the graveyard to stop mourning. The sudden movement of the body even left the people in a state of bewilderment as this was unreal and unusual.

The family then rushed to the Mohammad Furqan to hospital with the body of the person and he was then shifted to ventilator treatment immediately after that.

Shocked and disappointed at the irresponsible behaviour of the doctors of the private hospital, Irfan, the elder brother of Furqan said, "Devastated, we were preparing for the burial when some of us saw movement in his limbs. We immediately took Furqan to the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital where the doctors said he was alive and have put him on ventilator support."

Irfan also added, "We had paid Rs. 7 lakh to the private hospital earlier and when we told them that we had run out of money, they had declared Furqan dead on Monday."

Lucknow Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Narendra Agarwal, speaking on this matter, said, "We have taken cognizance of the incident and the matter will be thoroughly probed."

He further added that the patient’s pulses, blood pressure and reflexes are working. However, he is in critical condition for which he is put on ventilator support.
