Rajouri: 2 Terrorist Killed in Fresh Gunbattle Between Indian Army and Terrorists in J&K

SRINAGAR: Two terrorists were killed in Rajouri and Baramulla districts of Jammu and Kashmir, and one AK56, four AK Mags, 56 rounds of AK, one x 9mm Pistol with Mag, three grenades, and an ammunition bag were discovered.

The event occurred at about 1.15 a.m. when terrorists were attempting to flee, and a gun battle ensued between security personnel and militants.

According to reports, a search operation is still underway, with choppers and drones deployed in dense woodland areas.

According to accounts, the army forces noticed the terrorists and pinned them down on the spot as the cordon was about to be closed. On the other side, 5 army men were slain in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri districts. The local authorities later suspended mobile internet service. The operation to flush out militants from the area lasted until late at night.

The second such severe tragedy happened on April 20, when five soldiers were killed in an ambush on an army truck in the Tota Gali area of Bhatta Durian in Poonch District near Rajouri.

According to reports, two terrorist organizations may be responsible for this incident. While the Indian Army has conducted extensive counter-terrorist operations in Kandi Forest in the Bhata Dhurian area of the Rajouri sector following the attack on five army personnel on Friday, the Kotli (Occupied Kashmir) module of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) group is being investigated.

Most notably, Sajjid Jutt, a resident of Kasur Punjab, and the operational leader of the LeT in J7K, is suspected of coordinating terrorist recruitment, providing weapons, and smuggling. Reyaz Ahmed, another suspect, was also observed in the Mirpur-Kotli area of PoK.

On the other side, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande would visit the tense area on Saturday.

Additional CRPF and army personnel have already been deployed to secure the region and prevent terrorists from fleeing.
