Revenge Rape: 16-Year-Old Girl Gang Raped by Eight Men in front of her Parents

BAREILLY: A 16-year-old young girl was allegedly gang raped by eight men in front of her parents as they wanted to take revenge. The horrific event took place at a house near the Amroha railway station in Uttar Pradesh.

As per the reports, the eight men who raped her wanted to take revenge as her elder brother had eloped with a woman from their family.

It is to be mentioned that the girl's brother had eloped with a woman from the rapist's family and they were furious about the same. On June 28, the teenager and her parents were taken to the house by their neighbours to search for the missing couple. According to the sources, in the wake of being taken to the house, the girl was allegedly whipped and gang-raped by the missing woman's brothers, father, and uncles in front of her parents. Her father also said that one of the accused married her off without their consent. On June 29, the accused requested the girl's parents and took steps to kill her if they lodged a complaint.

Her family further claimed that they had moved toward the police yet a complaint was not filed. In any case, an FIR was registered when the girl portrayed her nerve-racking story.

The accused have been booked under applicable sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Allegedly, both the families were well-acquainted with one another yet their condition got ugly when the two young people ran off on June 27.

As the UP girl from Amroha district was gang raped by those men, her aunt said that the accused are very influential. They can do the same to other girls in their family too. They are very scared and want action against them. The revenge rape cases are horrific especially in India. All this happened because of her elder brother eloped with the woman.
