Sub-divisiol court iugurated at Hatsingimari

DHUBRI, Jan  2: Justice BK Sarma, Gauhati High Court, on Saturday formally iugurated the court and office of the Munsiff-cum- Judicial Magistrate at Hatsingimari under South Salmara –Mankachar subdivision of Dhubri district. Justice Ujjal Bhuyan , Gauhati High Court, was also present in the opening ceremony.

Justice BK Sarma in the open meeting said that the litigant people of Mankachar and Shukchar faced inconvenience undertaking a boat journey over the Brahmaputra to reach Dhubri court. Justice Sarma further criticized the Assam and Meghalaya governments for the deplorable condition of road connecting Hatsingimari, Mankachar through Fublbari of Meghaloya.

Rajib Goswami, District and Session Judge, Dhubri, Dhubri Deputy Commissioner zrul Islam, Dhubri Bar Association president AK Fazlul Hoque and Hatsingimari Bar Association president zimul Hoque also spoke in the opening ceremony.

About 30 per cent cases of Dhubri court were shifted to Hatsingimari sub-divisiol court and in response to the demand of the local people of South Salmara and Fakirgonj PS, the State Government has decided to keep both the PS with the Dhubri court.
