Sushant Singh Rajput death: CBI to interrogate two DCPs of Mumbai police

Guwahati: Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, which has been making the headlines for two months now, witnessed a major breakthrough after the Supreme Court handed over the case to CBI.

A day after getting a green signal from the Supreme Court to probe actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death, the Central Bureau of Investigation will interrogate two Deputy Commissioners of Mumbai Police over possible lapses in the case, reports said.

The team will be questioning the two Deputy Commissioners of Mumbai Police, namely Abhishek Trimukhe and Paramjit Singh Dahiya, regarding the initial investigation of the actor's death.

As per reports, the SIT is likely to closely examine any lapses from Mumbai officials in this case. The team will apparently visit Sushant Singh Rajput's apartment in Bandra where the actor was found dead on June 14.

DCP Dahiya has been accused of "negligence" after he was alerted about Sushant's life being in danger by his family in February this year and overlooked the WhatsApp messages sent by the late actor's family.

DCP Dahiya didn't associate with other police officials post-Sushant's untimely demise, reports said.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that DCP Abhishek Trimukhe, who was a part of the investigation of Sushant's death case, exchanged calls with Sushant's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty.

Notably, NCP chief Sharad Pawar stated the Udhhav Thackeray government will fully cooperate with the CBI for investigation in this case.
