Telangana Govt Unveils World's Largest Cricket Bat In Hyderabad

The large cricket bat was gifted to the Telangana government by the Pernod Ricard India Ltd, as a tribute to the Indian cricket team.

Hyderabad: On Saturday, the world's largest cricket bat, certified by Guinness World Records was unveiled in Hyderabad. The event was held on the eve of ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The cricket bat was unveiled by the former caption of the Indian cricket team Mohammed Azharuddin. The bat was a tribute to the Indian cricket team from Pernod Ricard. 

Pernod Ricard India Ltd has gifted the world's largest cricket bat to the government of Telangana. The gigantic bat is 56.1 feet long and weighs 9,000 kgs. The bat is currently on display on tank Bund and will be placed there will November 16. After that, the bat will be kept for display at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Uppal.

The bat is made of poplar wood and has been fabricated by BSL Events. The budget spent on making the bat amounts to almost Rs 70 lakh and had taken about a month to be made. The bat has broken the Guinness Record that was previously held by a 51-feet bat that had been made at Chennai.

It is also to be mentioned that Mohammed Azharuddin is the president of the Hyderabad Cricket Association.
