New Delhi: The Telegu superstar, Chiranjeevi has tested positive for coronavirus. The actor announced this through a tweet on Monday morning.

He wrote: "Took a test for COVID before resuming 'Acharya' shoot as a protocol and unfortunately tested positive."

The veteran actor is currently asymptomatic and is quarantining at home. He has asked all the people who came in contact with him in the last five days to get tested. "Request all those who met me in the last five days to also undergo COVID tests. Will update you on my recovery soon," he tweeted.

Chiranjeevi is one of the most admired and respected actors in the Telegu film industry. Apart from Telegu cinema, he has also worked in Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada films. He made his acting debut on the big screen in the year 1978 with the movie Punadhirallu. A few of the hits of Chiranjeevi are Indra, Rudraveena, Swayam Krushi and so on.

The actor was last seen in the film Raa Narasimha Reddy in the year 2019. He will be next seen in the movie directed by Koratala Siva, Acharya. It will be the 152nd movie of Chiranjeevi.
