Two CRPF jawans killed, three injured in Srinagar after bike-borne terrorists open fire

Srinagar: In an alarming development, bike-borne terrorists on Monday attacked and opened fire on the 110 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who along with Jammu and Kashmir Police, were carrying out road opening duty at Kandijhal Bridge in Pampore in Pulwama district. While two CRPF jawans died from their injuries, three others are undergoing treatment in a Srinagar hospital.

Officials said that two Lashkar-e-Taiba [LeT] militants came on a motorcycle and fired indiscriminately at a Road Opening Party of the CRPF at Kandizal near Pampore.

"Terrorists attacked security forces on National Highway near Kandizaal area in Pampore in Pulwama district in which five soldiers were injured. The area was immediately cordoned off and a search operation was launched to nab the terrorists," an army official informed.

The CRPF official further added that terrorists carried out the attack on the security forces near the Kandizal bridge area of Pampore.
