UP Cop rejoins duty after shaving off his beard

Baghpat: A cop from Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat, who was suspended for keeping beard has been reinstated after he shaved his beard off. Abhishek Singh, the Superintendent of Police informed that Intezar Ali, a Sub-Inspector range officer was suspended from office as he kept his beard despite the warnings from the senior officers.

He was suspended on October 20 from Ramala Police Station for lack of discipline. The SP of Baghpat has asked him thrice to shave off his beard before he was suspended. However, Ali did not respond to his warnings earlier.

He has later forwarded an application to the SP, Baghpat stating that he has shaved off his beard as per police manual. Therefore, he was reinstated and was allowed to rejoin his duties.
