16-Year-Old Girl gets Pregnant, 12-Year-Old Brother Arrested for Raping his Sister

GREATER NOIDA: A 12-year-old kid was caught and sent to an observation home for allegedly raping his elder sister, who is 16-year-old. It is to be noted that the minor girl is pregnant. The horrific incident was happened in Greater Noida and was reported to the police after her employers found out about her pregnancy and informed to Childline number. She may have conceived a few months prior. As teenager rape is very common in India, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act is needed to be considered immediately.

As per the reports, the minors are among five siblings, who stay with their parents in a rented house. Their mother works as a servant in a private society and their father is a construction worker. . The girl went with her mother to houses where they shared work.

Police said that an employer noticed a baby bump and enquired about her health. At this point, when they examined further, she unveiled that her younger brother had established sexual relations with her twice around two-three months back.

Bisrakh SHO Anita Chauhan said that both the girl and the boy were unaware of the consequences of the act. She said that when the employer informed Childline, the police started investigating them and they came to know that the parents did not realise about the issue. It is horrifying as the children sexual crime is increasing day by day.

According to a police officer, the girl had trusted in her mother yet she did not allegedly focus on it. The family thought that the girl had a disease and didn't understand she was pregnant.

After investigating the case, sub-inspector Usha Kushwaha said that the girl was the second among the five siblings and the boy was the third. She has studied up to class seven while the boy is in the third standard. Currently, the minor was accused of visiting the construction site with his father as schools are closed. The boy, on the other hand, was produced before the child welfare committee on Monday and he was sent to a juvenile shelter in Phase II on Tuesday.

It is to be mentioned that an ultrasound will be carried out to discover the girl's pregnancy status. She too has been sent to a shelter. An FIR has been lodged against the juvenile under IPC sections 376 (rape) and sections 5/6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act at Bisrakh headquarters.
