17-year-old Girl Alleges Sexual Harassment By Father, Grandfather and Uncle; Probe On

PUNE: On Thursday, a case of a 17-year-old girl, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, being raped by her father, uncle, and grandfather came to light.
The girl told the Pune Police in Maharashtra that her father, uncle, and grandfather has repeatedly sexually assaulted her.
According to a police official, the girl, who is currently attending college in Pune, recently described her experience to members of the Vishakha committee on sexual harassment, which is how the incident got attention from the authorities.
He also claimed that the victim's father had been detained by the police authorities in the city.
According to the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act, a complaint was filed in this respect on Wednesday with a police station in Pune (POCSO Act).
In her complaint, the girl said that between 2016 and 2018, while visiting her homeland in Uttar Pradesh, her uncle repeatedly violated her and she was also abused by her grandfather.
"The girl wrote on a chit to tell her father about the sexual assault episodes after moving to Pune in 2018. However, the father repeatedly sexually assaulted her while her mother was away from home instead of taking action against her uncle and grandfather, "the policeman stated.
He declared, "We have filed an offense against the girl's father, grandfather, and uncle, and more investigation is ongoing."
According to the sources, in accordance with Supreme Court guidelines on cases involving sexual assault, the victim's identity has not been made public in order to safeguard her privacy.
Earlier this year, Pune police recorded another horrifying incident in which an 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped by both her teenage brother and father.
She was also sexually assaulted by her grandfather and uncle, the Pune police reported on March 19, adding that the abuse had persisted for the previous five years.
Official reports state that police have accused the accused of rape and molestation in violation of several IPC sections, but no arrest has been made as of yet.
