Guwahati: Border Security Force(BSF) today shot dead five intruders in the India-Pakistan Border(IB) in Tarntaran district of Punjab near BOP Dall.

As per reports, the intruders were attempting to cross the border early morning.

After the encounter, the BSF has recovered the dead bodies of three intruders in extensive search operations along the border.

The Border Security Force officials said, "alert troops of the 103rd battalion noticed suspicious movement of intruders violating the IB in the Taran Taran district of Punjab."

A shoulder bag and one AK-47 rifle and two pistols have also been recovered during the search, BSF said.

"Upon being challenged to stop, intruders fired upon BSF troops who retaliated in self-defense. Resultantly, 05 intruders were shot. Intensive search ops are underway," a BSF spokesperson said.

Sources also informed that the intruders might have tied improvised explosive devices (IEDs) around their bodies.
