55 year old Woman allegedly raped by 24 year old Man in North Delhi
Guwahati: In yet another shocking incident, a 55-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death after being allegedly raped by a 24-year-old man living in her locality in North Delhi's Gulabi Bagh area. The woman lived in her small tea shop alone.
The mater came to the public eye on Saturday morning when a customer visited her shop for tea and found her lying on the floor. He then immediately alerted everyone and informed the matter to the police.
Police rushed her to the hospital where she was declared brought dead.
During the preliminary investigation, the police recovered CCTV footage in which a man could be seen going towards her tea shop. The suspect was then identified and picked up.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime and said that he forced himself on her before strangling her to death. On the basis of CCTV and his confession, the police arrested him and started further investigation.
The accused identified as Dharmaraj was working with the lady for years. He said the victim used to take money for sexual favours. On Friday night when she abused and spat on him, he raped and murdered her.
The body has been sent for a post mortem.
