New Delhi: After Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (VI), the Reliance Jio has become the third telecom company to increase its prepaid tariff rates.

The company has announced a 20 percent hike in its prepaid tariffs beginning December 1, 2021 as compare two other two telecom companies, who increased their prepaid tariffs by 20-25 percent.

"In line with its commitment to further strengthen a sustainable telecom industry, where every Indian is empowered with a true digital life, Jio today (November 28) announced its new unlimited plans,'' Reliance Jio said in an official statement on November 28.

''These plans will provide the best value in the industry. Upholding the Jio promise of providing the best-quality service at the lowest price globally, Jio customers will continue to be the biggest beneficiaries," the statement added.

In various plans of Jio 2021, there has been an increase from Rs 31 to Rs 480. The new price of the old Rs 75 plan specially brought for Jio Phone will now be Rs 91. At the same time, for the tariff plan of Rs 129 for unlimited plans, you will now have to pay Rs 155. The prices have been increased the most in the tariff plan with a validity of one year.

The one-year validity plan was earlier available for Rs 2399, but now the customer will have to spend Rs 2879 for this. The rates of Jio's data add-on plans have also increased. The Rs 51 plan with 6 GB has become 61, the Rs 101 plan has become 121. At the same time, the biggest 50 GB plan has also been costlier by Rs 50 to Rs 301.
