AgustaWestland chopper scam: Delhi court takes cognisance of chargesheet

NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Friday took cognisance of the supplementary charge sheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the Rs 3,600-crore AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal scam. On September 19, the agency had filed the charge sheet against 15 accused, including alleged middleman Christian Michel and accused turned approver Rajiv Saxena.

Special Judge Arvind Kumar of Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has now issued summons to the accused and listed the matter for Oct 23.

In the supplementary charge sheet, the CBI has named SandeepTyagi, Praveen Bakshi, PartapKrishanAggarwal, the then Managing Director of IDS Infotech Ltd, Narendra Kr Jain, Rajesh Kr Jain of Kolkata, Sunil Kothari, then MD of OM Metals Infotech Private Ltd, &Kunhikrishnan, a close associate of Michel.

The agency has also named Saxena, then Director of Interstellar Tech Ltd; GiacominoSaponaro, then MD of AgustaWestland International Ltd; Deepak Goyal, an official of GautamKhaitan in the case. (IANS)
