Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Mann Meets Sisodia’s Family After His Arrest

NEW DELHI: After the CBI detained the AAP politician on Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Punjabi counterpart Bhagwant Mann met with Manish Sisodia's family at their residence.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) detained the deputy chief minister of Delhi in relation to allegations of corruption in the creation and execution of the excise policy for 2021–2022, which has since been cancelled.

Mann criticised the BJP for arresting Sisodia, calling the action an "insult" to the education lakhs of Delhi's youngsters are receiving. "In reality, Manish Sisodia's incarceration is a disgrace to Delhi's thousands of school-age children.

The BJP's plan includes imprisoning those responsible for building schools. Mann made a tweet in a Hindi language.

Kejriwal tweeted earlier in the day while Sisodia was travelling to the CBI headquarters, "Manish, we'll look after your family. Not to worry.”

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has declared that, on Monday, rallies will be held across India in opposition to this.

Sandeep Pathak, the national general secretary of AAP, announced the demonstrations on Twitter. They are expected to occur in a number of cities, including Delhi, Gandhinagar in Gujarat, Rohtak in Haryana, and Noida. Around 12 p.m. on Monday, the party will hold protests outside the Bharatiya Janata Party's headquarters on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg in the nation's capital.

It is anticipated that the party will also stage demonstrations in Gandhinagar, Gujarat; Rohtak, Haryana; Noida, etc.

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, condemned the arrest as "dirty politics" and reaffirmed that Sisodia was innocent. The Delhi deputy chief minister had previously asserted that bogus charges were brought against AAP politicians because Prime Minister Narendra Modi was concerned about Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's increasing popularity.

The AAP's plan to protest on Monday comes in the wake of harsh criticism of how the Modi administration handled previous farmer rallies in Delhi.
