NEW DELHI: A Bihar man with six wives in four different states was caught by one of his brothers-in-law after being seen with a different wife at the Jamui train station.

He identified himself as Chhotu and informed the police when he was escorted to the station that he has six wives spread across four states.

He claimed to have four children from his previous marriage and two from the woman he split up with a year and a half ago

In the jurisdiction of the Barhat police station, Chhotu Kumar is from the Javatari village.

On Monday night, Manju's brother, Vikas, who is one of his wives, arrived at Jamui station to travel to Kolkata. While there, he noticed Chhotu with another woman and told his family about it

In 2018, Chhotu and his wife Manju were married, and the couple had two children together, according to Kobia Devi, Chhotu's mother-in-law.

On the excuse of bringing medicine about 1.5 years ago, Chhotu had left the house and never returned.

"My sister has been waiting here for so long, yet he was calling that woman his wife," Vikas added.

"Chhotu has cheated on us," Kobiya stated. He is also wed to Ranchi resident Kalavati Devi, and the two of them have four kids together.

According to the police, Chhotu sang in the Maa Sharda Orchestra of Deoghar. He fathered kids with ladies from Chinawaria, Sunderkand, Ranchi, Sangrampur, Delhi, and Deoghar.

Police's remarks regarding the incident:

According to the police, the complainants are his second wife's relatives. So far, no complaints have been made regarding this situation.

The police will look into a complaint if one is made. Vikas claimed that he sang to amuse people and got married wherever he performed.

His strategy is to run away after divorcing a woman and then get married again.
