As per this bill, the Andhra government will administer the way of digital movie ticket buying and selling.

The Andhra Pradesh Cinema Bill was tabled in the assembly house by Perni Venkatramaiah, Minister of Information and Public relations and Transport Minister on behalf of State Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy. The Bill was passed as per the unanimous decision by the members of the house.

While speaking on the new bill passed, the Minister of Information and Public relations said that this bill will allow the government the introduction of transparent digital booking of movie tickets in all the theatres across the state of Andhra Pradesh. He added that the portal for booking tickets will be handled by the AP Film Development Corporation.

The process of the movie ticket booking will be similar to the booking of tickets for train, bus and flights which enables the passengers as lined with APSRTC (Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation). Through this system, the government will keep the check on tax invasion.

The ticket price will remain unchangeable in the online booking and there will be only four shows in each theatre per day. No one will be allowed for any extra additional shows.

The minister further said that the booking of movie tickets online will be beneficial for the people of the state as sometimes the middle-class people often get exploited by ticket sellers who increase the cost of the tickets on the new release of movies. This AP Cinema Bill 2021 will stop the misuse of moviegoers by exhibitors on fresh releases.
