Mumbai: The Bombay High Court granted bail to actor Rhea Chakraborty, however, her brother, Showik Chakraborty's bail plea was rejected. They were arrested in a drugs case, linked with the Sushant Singh Rajput's death case.

The employees of Rajput, Dipesh Sawant, and Samuel Miranda, who were also arrested were granted bail. Showik and Miranda were held by the Narcotics Control Bureau on September 4. She was arrested on September 8 by the agency.

The actor, who was kept in Byculla jail cell was granted bail by Justice SV Kotwal. Bombay HC has asked Rhea to deposit her passport, and should not travel abroad without prior permission from the HC. She is asked to pay a surety of Rs1 lakh.

Rhea's lawyer, Satish Maneshinde said on her bail, "We are delighted by the order of the Honourable Bombay High Court granting bail to Rhea Chakraborty. Truth and Justice have prevailed and ultimately the submissions on facts and law have been accepted by Justice Sarang V Kotwal."

Her lawyer said that NCB's allegation on Rhea was based on an incident from March 2020, where she gave her credit card to Miranda to buy illegal material for Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead in his apartment on June 14.
