The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme's ninth payment is expected to be distributed on December 15, 2021.

Each year, the government transfers a cash sum of Rs 6,000 to the farmers under the initiative. The instalments are sent immediately to the farmers' bank accounts, which are connected to their Aadhaar cards.

The yearly cash sum is distributed to beneficiaries in three instalments: the first between April and July, the second between August and November, and the third between December and March. The PM Kisan programme is a central-sector initiative that provides full assistance to small farmers. On December 1, 2018, it went into effect. The plan provides land-holding farmers with a yearly payment of Rs 6,000 in three instalments.

Only small and marginal farmers with a landowning capacity of up to 2 hectares were eligible for the PM-KISAN initiative when it was originally launched in February 2019.

Nevertheless, the policy was eventually changed to give benefits to all 14.5 crore farmer households' land, regardless of size. Institutional landowners, farmer families possessing constitutional roles, serving or retired officials, and workers of state and central government, public sector organisations, and government autonomous bodies are exempt from the PM-Kisan plan.

This system excludes specialists such as physicians, engineers, and retired pensioners with a monthly income of more than $10,000 and income taxpayers in the previous assessment year.

It's worth noting that according to certain reports, the federal government is considering tripling the amount earned under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana. If this occurs, instead of Rs 2,000 being delivered to farmers' accounts in each instalment, Rs 4,000 would be sent.
