'Contact Via Video Conference', Says Maharashtra Governor Amid Political Turmoil In State

Guwahati: Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari who is in hospital after tested positive for COVID-19, has reportedly said that anyone who wants to contact him could do so via video conferencing.

"Governor has COVID symptoms following which he is admitted to the hospital. He is stable and there are no such talks of handing over his charge to the other Governor. If anyone wants to get in contact with the Governor, can do it via Video Conference," a statement from the Raj Bhavan said.

Now, with this statement, there is speculation that rebel MLAs who are camping in Guwahati could approach Governor claiming to form a government in Maharashtra via video conference.

A few reports claimed that these rebel MLAs are backed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

After the uproar within the Shiv Sena party in Maharashtra, a group of nearly 40 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs, along with their leader Eknath Shinde, on Wednesday left their hotel in Gujarat's Surat and reached Guwahati.

In the present scenario, the leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government have tightened its belt to save the incumbent government in the state.

Eknath Shinde, who camped in Surat, Gujarat from Maharashtra, has reached Guwahati, including 33 party MLAs and 7 independent MLAs.
