Covid-19: Delhi health minister being shifted to ICU amid deteriorating condition

Guwahati: Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain who has been infected with the Covid-19 has developed a lung condition and his condition has continued to deteriorate, reports said,

Government sources told media that Jain, who was previously admitted at the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital, is being shifted to the ICU of Max Super Speciality Smart hospital in Saket for his treatment.

Talking to mediapersons earlier today, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that as per the latest CT scans, pneumonia patches in Jain's lungs have increased. Kejriwal said that since the morning, he was feeling tired and complained about giddiness. The Delhi Government is constantly monitoring his condition.

Jain had on Sunday taken part in a meeting to discuss the Covid-19 outbreak challenge in the national capital.

"Praying for the speedy recovery of Shri Satyendra Jain, Health Minister of Delhi who is battling with COVID-19 infection," Shah wrote on twitter, wishing the Delhi CM a speedy recovery.

Delhi's Health Minister Satyendra Jain tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday. The Health Minister was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital (RGSSH) in the city on Tuesday following fever and was later tested for the virus. "Due to high-grade fever and a sudden drop in my oxygen levels last night I have been admitted to RGSSH. Will keep everyone updated," the minister wrote in a tweet.

Jain, who was tested negative for coronavirus in the first test on Tuesday, had again undergone a COVID-19 test earlier today and was tested positive for the contagion in his second test. It needs mention here that Jain has predicted that 30,000 more Covid-19 cases in the city in the coming 12-15 days. It may be recalled here that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had also undergone a Covid-19 test after he had reported feeling 'unwell.' The CM's test result had come out negative.
