A 'Booster dose' of the Covid-19 vaccination will be available to senior citizens over the age of 60.
Those who are enrolled as frontline employees, such as healthcare workers, nurses, and doctors, will receive the same treatment.
While the government has stated that there is no need to register for the "precautionary dose" and that walk-ins are permitted, registering on Cowin may make it simpler to secure a scheduled appointment for this immunization dose.
1. The 3rd dose is available to frontline workers and senior citizens with co-morbidities.
2. While a doctor's certificate is not required at the time of administration of the precaution dose, it is recommended that you consult with a doctor before taking the precaution dose.
3. The second and third doses must be separated by nine months. So, if you received your second dose within the first week of April 2021, you are only eligible for the cautionary dose at this time. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until you've had your second dose for 39 weeks.
4. If you have Covishield, your third dose will be Covishield as well. Covaxin is the same way. The government does not allow vaccines to be mixed and matched.
5. There is no need to register for Co-Win again. Appointments can be made directly on the website. Other than that, walk-ins are welcome.
6. The health ministry recognizes voter ID, Aadhaar, passports, and driver's licenses as valid documents.
7. Priority groups are vaccinated at no cost in government hospitals.
1. Go to the Cowin tab on cowin.gov.in or the Aarogya Setu app, and tap on the vaccine tab.
2. Use the same mobile number that you used for earlier registration to log in. When using that particular cell phone, if someone else enrolled on your behalf, please ask them for a One Time Password (OTP). Remember that on the Cowin portal, you can register up to four persons with the same phone number.
3. Your name and profile will most likely appear when you check-in. If you haven't been vaccinated yet and want to do so soon, you'll need to register.
4. In the Appointments Module, the system will display the slots for Precaution Dose for individuals who are completely vaccinated and eligible.
Select the 'Precaution dosage' tab, then the 'Appointments' tab.
5. Select an appointment depending on your location, Pincode, and other factors, then tap or click Book appointment. The appointment should be confirmed, and the app can be used to download the details.
