Dassault CEO Eric Trappier says the Anil Ambani Company was their choice for Rafale Defence Deal

Guwahati: Clearing the clouds of doubt and suspicion, Dassault CEO Eric Trappier have said it clearly that whatever he has said in the matter of assigning the Rafale deal to Anil Ambani company, the CEO says that it was his firm which chose the Ambani firm for the Rafale Defence deal.

Eric stated, “We chose (Anil) Ambani by ourselves. We already have 30 partners other than Reliance."

Notably, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi had alleged Eric earlier this month that Eric has lied and also alleged that the firm is giving kickbacks to a loss-making company of Anil Ambani.

"I don't lie. The truth I declared before and the statements I made are true. I don't have a reputation for lying. In my position as CEO, you don't lie."

In response to the interview of Eric Trappier, Congress hits back terming it as "dictated" and said that the interview consists of 'manufactured lies".

A tweet of Congress spokesperson Randeep S Surjewla states, “Dictated Interviews' and 'Manufactured Lies' cannot suppress the #Rafale Scam!"

Seeing the political interference in the deal, the Dassault CEO further said that the controversy could be politically motivated. He said, "I know there are some controversies and I know that it is a kind of domestic political fight, with elections it is true in many countries. What is important for me is the truth and the truth is that it is a clean deal and the IAF is happy with this deal.”

He also added, "We have long experience with the Congress party our first deal was with India in 1953 with Nehru and other Prime Ministers. We have been working with India We are not working for any party. We are supplying strategic products like fighters to the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Government. That is what is most important."
