Guwahati: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who has developed a fever and sore throat, will reportedly undergo a Covid-19 test to rule out the possibility of an infection.

According to media reports, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo has been experiencing fever since Sunday, along with a sore throat. Sources said that the Chief Minister has canceled all his meetings since Sunday afternoon and has also isolated himself.

Kejriwal was not not seen since Sunday evening when he briefed the press and announced the Government's decision to make all Delhi government and private hospitals exclusive for residents of Delhi during the crisis period.

It is pertinent to mention here that the COVID-19 pandemic was confirmed in the Indian union territory of Delhi, with the first case reported on 2 March 2020. The total of infected people reported as on 5 June 2020 is 26,334 consisting of 708 deaths and 10,315 recoveries.

Meanwhile, coronavirus cases in India crossed 2.56 lakh cases on Monday after a record number of 9,983 cases were reported in 24 hours, even as the government allowed a number of relaxations after over two months of lockdown. This is the biggest single-day jump in cases as the country recorded over 9,000 cases for the sixth consecutive day.
