Delhi government launched a website to register construction workers

NEW DELHI: The Delhi government on Friday launched a website, to be functional from Saturday, for registration of construction workers in the city and subsequent and renewals. The website will help the construction workers who are either not registered with the government or are yet to renew their annual resigrations, Labour Minister Gopal Rai told the media. The Delhi government on Monday had also decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 5,000 again to the construction workers in the wake of the extended coronavirus lockdown. There are about 40,000 construction workers registered with the government at present. "There are many unregistered construction labourers in Delhi along with those whose renewal of registrations is pending.'' (IANS)
