New Delhi: Amid rising cases of COVID-19 in the national capital, the Delhi government has ordered the closure of all private offices and restaurants in the city.

Earlier, both private offices and restaurants were allowed to operate with 50 percent capacity.

The revised guidelines which were issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) asserted that only those private offices will be allowed to operate which are involved in providing essential services.

Since, as per the new guidelines, the restaurants across the national capital will be closed but takeaway and home delivery of foods will be available.

Delhi reported 19,166 new Covid-19 cases and 17 more deaths on Monday. The case positivity rate reached a new height of 25 percent.

However, Delhi has not reported any case of the omicron variant of the coronavirus for two days now, maintaining a tally of 513 infections so far, as per the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
