Dexamethasone approved for use in India

The government in India has authorized the use of the low-cost steroid drug dexamethasone as an alternative to methylprednisolone.

This drug will be used to treat coronavirus patients with moderate and severe symptoms.

Dexamethason ,is a steroid which is used to reduce inflammation in other diseases such as arthritis, also can be used for patients in need of oxygen support and those who have excessive inflammatory response.

It is to be mentioned that Dexamethasone is manufactured by an Indian company headquartered in Ahmedabad.
