Dilip Kumar is Stable, should be Home in 2-3 Days

Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood superstar Dilip Kumar is stable now and as per doctors, he should be home in two to three days.

On Sunday, he was admitted to non-COVID PD Hinduja Hospital Khar for tests and investigations after he complained of breathlessness. A team of healthcare workers led by Dr Nitin Gokhale was attending to him.

On Monday morning, Dr Jalil Parkar, chest specialist, who treated the 98-year-old actor, said that he is now stable and will be discharged within two to three days. He is on oxygen support.

The official Twitter handle of the veteran actor shared a health update late last evening. The tweet read, "Don't believe in WhatsApp forwards. Saab is stable. Thank you for your heart-felt duas and prayers. As per doctors, he should be home in 2-3 days. Insh'Allah."

Dilip Kumar's wife Saira Banu said that the veteran actor was admitted to have some routine tests done as well as to examine why he was feeling breathlessness. "We are having some routine tests done. We are examining why he got breathless and had a mild fever. He had been a little unwell over the past couple of days. So, we got him admitted to the non-Covid hospital. The doctors are doing X-rays, blood tests and other tests under the guidance of Dr Nitin Gokhale. We would like all of you to pray for his well-being and better health," she added.

It is to be mentioned that the actor turned 98 on December 11, 2020. He did not celebrate his birthday as he lost two of his brothers in the same year. Speaking about the same, Saira Banu said, "We have had a catastrophe this year. Dilip sahab lost his two brothers. He doesn't keep well, neither do I. It's a difficult time for us, so there is no question of a big celebration. We will simply thank the Lord for the gift of life and health."

Both Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu had been in isolation since March 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
