Eid al-Adha 2022 Advisory: Avoid Sharing Qurbani Videos, Photos On Social Media

New Delhi: An advisory has been issued by Maulana Khalid Rashid regarding the sacrifices of the animals just ahead of Bakrid 2022 (festival of Qurbani or sacrifice).

People have been urged to sacrifice only those animals who are legally allowed. Keeping in mind the sentiments of Hindus, Maulana Khalid also requested that people refrain from sharing videos and photos of sacrifices on social media.

Maulana Khalid has advised the people to avoid performing sacrifices on roads, in open areas, or in public places and asked them to perform sacrifices within the ambit of the law.

He urged everyone to maintain cleanliness and to avoid spilling leftovers or remains of animals on roads or in public places.

He also advised the people to avoid draining the remains of animals or blood in sewage as it is not healthy to do so.

Last but not the least, he also advised the people to try to bury the remains under the soil and also appealed to distribute and donate 1/3 portion among the lower strata of society, especially to the ones who are in dire need of it.

Meanwhile, Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on July 9 and 10 this year.

Notably, Bakrid happens to be a 'festival of Qurbani' which holds a lot of significance in Islam and it is one of the two main festivals celebrated by the Muslim community.

The occasion is celebrated worldwide to commemorate and honour the Prophet Ibrahim for his willingness to sacrifice his son Ismael as an act of obedience to god.
