Enforcement Directorate Summons Aishwarya Rai Bachchan In Panama Papers Leak Case

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday summoned Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in connection with the Panama papers.

Reportedly, the ED wants to question Aishwarya over allegations of stashing wealth abroad.

Notably, the actress has also been summoned earlier for questioning but she sought more time for the same.

The probe agency has been probing the case since 2016 when the global leaks came to light. Later, under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) of the RBI, it issued notices to the Bachchan family asking them to explain their foreign remittances since 2004.

According to reports, the Aishwarya had submitted records on the foreign payments to the agency. However, now she has been summoned to record her statements.

Over 300 Indians were said to be part of the Panama Papers.
