Exam, Registration Fee Waived For CBSE Students Whose Parents Died Of COVID-19

New Delhi: The students enrolled under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will receive a waiver of examination and registration fee if their parents have succumbed to the deadly COVID-19. This was announced by CBSE who have also requested the school authorities to submit the details of such students after doing a proper verification check.

According to the CBSE, "The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the country adversely and keeping in view of its impact on students, CBSE, as a special measure for academic session 2021-22, has decided that neither the exam fees nor the registration fees will be charged by the Board from the students who have lost both parents or surviving parent or legal guardian/ adoptive parents due to COVID-19 pandemic."

As of far, the board has directed the schools to send the list of candidates (LOC) for classes 10 and 12 before September 30 without late fees and before October 9 with late fees.

"This is a special measure for the academic session 2021-2022," the board added.

Apart from this, the Central Board of Secondary Education has also announced that the board will conduct two sets of board exams. In the academic session 2021-2022, the first set will be held from November to December and the second set will be held from March to April 2022 for students of Classes 10 and 12. As per the board, this has been done to prepare for any "unprecedented situation" that could occur due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022.
