Faizabad becomes Ayodhya: Yogi Adityanath announces New Name in Deepotsav

The deepotsav festival celebration in Ayodhya got bigger with quite many new assurances and promises being made by the Uttar Pradesh CM. He even announced the setting up of a new airport in Ayodhya which will be named after Lord Ram.

Guwahati: With the renaming of the places in India by the BJP government at a catching a good pace, another old Indian place is renamed by the Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. The UP CM, announced it on Tuesday that from now onwards Faizabad district would be known as Ayodhya. Before this, the Yogi had renamed Allahabad as Prayagraj.

Yogi Adityanath, could be seen attending the grand celebration of Diwali in Ayodhya on Tuesday wherein he took to announce that the Faizabad district will no more be known by its old name and from now onwards will be known by the very holy name of Ayodhya. He said, “Ayodhya is a symbol of our ‘aan, baan aur shaan’ (honour, pride and prestige).”

He even announced the setting up of a new airport in Ayodhya which will be named after Lord Ram. A medical college in the name of king Dashrath, father of Lord Ram is also in the cards. Citing Yogi’s words, “Deepotsav is about starting a new tradition,” it must be mentioned here that this Diwali certainly came as a starting of many new and good things for Ayodhya with so many gifts being showered by the government.

The UP CM took to announce these at the Ram Katha Park in Ayodhya on the eve of Diwali. The event showed the inaugural of several projects along with the project for redevelopment and beautification of “Ram Ki Paidi” and the stoppage of sewage disposal in the Sarayu river. The First Lady of South Korea, Kim Jung-sook too took part in the grand Diwali celebration in Ayodhya along with Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik.

Attending the event, the chief minister adds, “We have come to work for Ayodhya and a South Korean delegation has also come here to connect with its past. Ayodhya’s identity will remain with Ayodhya and this Korean delegation is a witness to that. I want to announce today that this district will now be known as Ayodhya as well.”

However, Yogi, amidst the celebrations and new announcements, did not forget to mention Prime Minister Narendra Modi and described how akin the PM is to build a “Ram Rajya”. He added, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started the Janakpur to Ayodhya bus service and therefore, to take the Ayodhya-Nepal relationship forward, I will go to Janakpur with seers.”

He then adds how the government is taking up efforts to revitalize the places of historical and mythological importance. He stated, “We have kept our memories alive, so that no one can disturb our memories. We have our traditions which we want to take forward.”
