NEW DELHI: Fire broke out at the ICU of the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi in the wee hours today, a total of 50 patients were evacuated, said reports.

No casualty has been reported so far after the fire broke out at 6:30 AM in the morning. All the patients were immediately shifted to other wards with the help of hospital staff.

The fire was brought under control after nine fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

Meanwhile, as per reports, another fire broke out at a readymade garments factory in Raghupara Part-2, Gandhinagar in Delhi today morning.

Reportedly, fire officials received a fire call at 8:15 AM following which 15 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

No casualty has been reported and further investigations are going on as the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

In yet another incident coming from Kolkata, fire broke out at a bank located on the fourth floor of a multi-storeyed building at around 7.50 am today at Strand Road.

Reportedly, eleven fire engines were rushed to the spot and nobody was injured in the blaze.

As per reports, the cause of the fire is not known, however, the officials have stated that it could be a cause of an electrical short circuit. "The blaze is under control now. We are conducting the cooling process at the moment," the official said.

Earlier this month, at least nine people were killed in a fire accident at the Eastern Railway Headquarters in Kolkata. The incident took place after a blaze broke out on the 13th floor of the 14-storied New Koilaghat building on Strand Road.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who also visited the spot, announced a Rs 10-lakh compensation and a government job for the families of the deceased.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief at the accident and announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for each of the families of those killed.
