Fire Breaks Out at Serum Institute of India office in Pune

PUNE: In an unfortunate incident, a fire broke out at the second floor of Serum Institute building in Pune.

Ten fire tenders have been rushed to the spot to douse the fire.

According to reports, all the people inside the building have been evacuated.

As per latest updates, the fire continues to rage at the fourth and fifth floors of SEZ3 building inside Terminal Gate 1 of Serum Institute of India in Pune.

Notably, the incident of fire at the Serum Institute of India took place at Manjri Plant. The site where the fire broke out, is an under-construction building at Serum Institute of India, Pune. Thick cloud of smoke hampered rescue operations. It took about three hours to control the blaze.

The vaccine and vaccine manufacturing plant are safe.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is in touch with Pune Municipal Commissioner and is taking complete on-ground updates. Further, Thackeray has directed state machinery to coordinate and ensure that situation is under control.
