Four terrorists shot down in encounter at Nagrota in Jammu and Kashmir

The gunfight started when the terrorists started firing on the security forces

Jammu: Four militants were gunned down in an encounter with security forces near Ban toll plaza, Nagrota, on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway this morning.

As per reports, the encounter started at about 5 AM today when a truck carrying a group of terrorists was stopped for checking near the toll plaza.

The gunfight started when the terrorists started firing on the security forces.

In the gunfire that ensued this morning, four terrorists were shot down.

According to reports, two SOG men of J&K police have been injured in the gun battle. Both the injured jawans have been rushed to GMC Jammu with injuries in the neck. Their condition is stated to be stable.

Confirming the incident, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police informed that the slain terrorists were affiliated to Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist group and had recently infiltrated from across the border through Samba sector.

Border Security Force DG, Rakesh Asthana stated that the force is committed to national security and countering infiltration. In a statement, he also asserted that "martyrdom of soldiers and officers hasn't deterred the spirit of the force. On ceasefire violations and infiltration, historically, infiltration increases before snowfall."
