NEW DELHI: The farmers camping in the Delhi borders of Ghaziabad, Tikri and Singhu have decided to start victory processions today on Saturday 11 December as they are now all set to return back to their respective homes located in the villages of Haryana and Punjab.

The victory celebration comes after the success of farmers in a year-long protest against the 3 farm laws of the center which is now canceled. On Thursday social activist Yogendra Yadav said gave the assurance on taking back the cases against farmers and following this the protest has been stopped.

The Victory March by farmers was earlier decided to hold on Friday but it was delayed in view of the funeral of CDS Gen Bipin Rawat and 12 others who died in a military chopper crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.

The farmers in the Singhu borders since Friday 10 December were seen breaking the camps that they build during their protests. The farmers are destroying the site marking their end of the protest and they are expected to leave the location by 15 December after the victory march today.

On Thursday 9 December, the farmers' agitation ended by an umbrella body of farmers union known as the Samyukta Kisan Morcha as they had decided to agree with the new proposal of the center which was made on the basis of the pending demands by farmers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 19 November during the auspicious celebration of Guru Parab made the major announcement about the decision to repeal the three farm laws. After that, on 1st December President Ram Nath Kovid gave his approval on the matter of repealing the farm laws.

On 29 November the parliament had repealed the 3 farm laws but the farmers head mentioned that protests will be continued until other demands were not met by the center such as the withdrawal of complaints lodge against protestors, suspension of Ajay Mishra, Minister of State for Home Affairs of India and legal guarantee on MSP (Minimum Support Price) on crops.

On Thursday the center informed about the acceptance of one of the farmers' demands as the cases lodge against protestors during farmers' agitation has been accepted to be withdrawn by the governments of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Uttarakhand.
