

Panaji: Goa's Curlie's restaurant will be demolished soon for allegedly flouting the coastal zone regulations after the National Green Tribunal (NGT), upheld the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority's earlier order to demolish the iconic shack.
Reportedly, the government had already sealed the Curlie Restaurant, which was in the headlines for being a place where Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sonali Phogat died.
Ever since Sonali Phogat died, the Goa administration was keeping an eye on the restaurant, its owner Edwin Nunes who has already been arrested.
Reports also claimed that Goa Police got CCTV footage from the pub of Curlie's restaurant, wherein, Sonali Phogat's PA Sudhir Sangwar and Sonali were seen dancing together. Following the death, there were some reports which surfaced claiming that owner of Goa Curlie's pub and drug paddler are involved. However, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawat asserted that a proper investigation will take place into Sonali Phogat's death.
Meanwhile, Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte on Thursday said that every incident in the coastal state should not be linked to tourism. The minister made this statement after the death of Sonali Phogat in Goa under suspicious circumstances.
"Incidents like Sonali Phogat's death should not be linked to the tourism industry. The police department is probing the case of Phogat's death. Let the truth come out in the investigation,'' he added.
Notably, Phogat (43) passed away in Goa last month and in this matter, the state police have arrested five people of which two people have been charged with murder.
Famous for making videos on the 'TikTok app, Phogat was also seen in the reality show 'Bigg Boss'.
