GOI Appoints Three IAS Officers as Directors of Census Operations
These officials have been appointed for Assam, Maharashtra, Punjab and Chandigarh

NEW DELHI: After the formal approval of the president of India, the central government's decision to appoint three Indian Administrative Services officials in the new positions of Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration comes into effect. These positions have been created by the Government of India for the states of Assam, Maharastra, Punjab and Chandigarh.
The Director of Census Operation and Director of Citizen Registration officials have been officially appointed for a period of three years. They will remain in that position till December 31, 2025, unless it is modified by any future order. Debajyoti Dutta, Nirupama Dange and Navjot Khosa have been allocated to these positions. And the announcement about these new appointments came in the form of notifications from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Debajyoti Dutta has been appointed as the Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registrations for Assam. An Indian Administrative Services official of the 2010 batch of the Assam-Meghalaya Cadre has been appointed for this position as on December 20 last year/. The appointment has been done under the Central Staffing Scheme from his present position as the Deputy Secretary and will remain to serve till any further order is issued or the end of 2025, whichever is earlier. The headquarters of his department will be in Guwahati, Assam.
Nirupama Dange is an IAS officer of the 2007 batch of the Maharastra Cadre. She is currently working under the Central Staffing Scheme as Director and the headquarter of her department will be in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Navjot Khosa belongs to the 2012 batch and Kerala cadre. She has been appointed as the DCO and DCR for Punjab and Chandigarh with effect from December 19, 2022, under the Central Staffing Scheme, as her present level as Deputy Secretary. The official notification mentioned the Headquarters for Navjot Khosa will be in Chandigarh.
