Gujarat: Amul MD RS Sodhi Meets With Road Accident

Gujarat: The managing Director of India's leading dairy cooperative GCMMF which operates Amul, RS Sodhi, met with a road accident on Wednesday night near Anand town in Gujarat.

Following the accident, he sustained minor injuries and was immediately taken to a hospital. However, his condition is stable.

''The car in which Sodhi was travelling turned turtle after hitting a divider on Anand-Bakrol road at around 9 PM,'' Deputy Superintendent of Police BD Jadeja was quoted as saying by media reports.

As per the police, the car driver lost control over the vehicle, which led to the accident.

Reportedly, Both Sodhi and his driver were inside the car when it toppled in what appeared to be a major accident. However, the exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, a passerby reported the car toppled after a tyre burst while it was trying to save a two-wheeler rider on the outskirts of Anand.

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF) which headquartered is in Anand town sells its products under the brand name Amul.

The company's total turnover is around Rs 53,000 crore from milk and milk products and Sodhi has been serving as its MD since 2010.
